Hare Krishna to All Vaishnavas.

I am a very fallen soul who is deeply trapped in the mode of ignorance. Whenever I stay with devotees( once in a month or so) in Temple or BACE, Getting up before 4am seems to be no problem as devotees are merciful and they wake me up, but at home I leave this responsibility on my mobile's alarm , but this method doesn't really work. 

I know that I am not a very determined sadhak so kindly instruct me and give me few tips of getting up early ( atleast before 4:30 am).

    Usually when i eat heavy foods like grains i have to sleep more.

    Because when we eat heavy food especially when there is no Sun body spends too much energy for digesting food and in this way does not take enough rest while sleeping.

    So for dinner i try not to eat grains. Grains i may eat for lunch time.

    Also not every day. (here one should know his own body type)

    Also the main thing we need is DESIRE. Desire to know more about God - Krishna.

    Desire to live, to chant...

    And desire comes when we associate with those people who have that desire to wake up in Brahma Muhurta.

    So Prabhu, You have to try Your best to be in association. Be it online, none line, or reading books, hearing lectures...

    ASSOCIATION - ALWAYS!

    When i used to stay in the hostel there was no Devotees, on the contrary all other girls used to sleep. So when many people sleep it is very difficult to wake up for us. But i used to feel pain when i was not able to chant my rounds on time. I used to get upset to myself.

    And that pain used to help me to be little austere.

    Also sleeping means ignorance. So we have to remove that ignorance by gaining knowledge of Srimad Bhagavatam.

    If we know how it is difficult to take a human body, how much it is painful to die, to take birth, to get old...at the same time learn of how wonderful is spiritual world, how sweet are the Holy Names...then we will have desire to do anything and everything but wake up on time.

    Also praying helps much.

    When i go to sleep i pray to my Gour Nitay to help me to take nice rest and to wake me up on time for Mangala Arati.

    And They help me.

    It is amazing!

    PAMHO.

    Your desire to get up early and the fact that you are doing something about it is pleasing to Krsna and He will surely show you the way. To add to what everyone has said, one thing that has worked practically for people I know is - get a devotee friend to wake you up every morning by calling you up at 4.00 am everyday. He has to ensure you pick up the call and hear your voice before he disconnects. If he does this for a month, you will get into the groove. 

    It does help to simplify your life - to get up early, you need to sleep early, otherwise this is not a workable proposition. Srila Prabhupada has said that 6 hours of sleep is enough for a person. However, be realisitc and judge how many hours you need to feel fresh without lying down at all the rest of the day. Then back calculate and set your sleep time accordingly.

    make a practice of having mangal aarti on a daily basis at your residence glorify the vaishnavas feel guilty if you cant invite devotees honour prasad discuss krsna katha give dakshina simple living high thinking also keep a broom and stick

    to beat the mind morning and evening make a determination  and you will suceed
