Why Śukadeva Gosvāmī kept Radha Rani's name hidden?

 Hare Krishna to all!

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I would humbly want to know the following questions:

- Why Srimati Radha Rani's name is not directly mentioned in Bhagavad Gita and in Bhagavatam?

- Why His Grace Śukadeva Gosvāmī tried to keep Radha Rani's name hidden?

With my small fund of knowledge I tried to find the answer in Bhagavad Gita and in Bhagavatam, but didn't find the answer. May be I missed the answer because of limitation of understanding the shastra scripture language.

Since  'Maha Mantra' comprises with Radha Rani's holy name as "Hare" or  "Hara", I was expecting Her vivid presence in these holy scriptures.  In contrast, the sage Śukadeva Gosvāmī  carefully (probably) kept Radha Rani's name hidden. For your kind information I am citing the verse from Bhagavatam where He mentioned Her name.

anayārādhito nūnaṁ  bhagavān harir īśvaraḥ

yan no vihāya govindaḥ prīto yām anayad rahaḥ (SB 10.30.28)

(anayā — by Her; ārādhitaḥ — perfectly worshiped; nūnam — certainly; bhagavan — the Personality of Godhead;hariḥ — Lord Kṛṣṇa; īśvaraḥ — the supreme controller; yat — inasmuch as; naḥ — us; vihāya — rejecting;govindaḥ — Lord Govinda; prītaḥ — pleased; yām — whom; anayat — led; rahaḥ — to a secluded place.)

Certainly this particular gopī has perfectly worshiped the all-powerful Personality of Godhead, Govinda, since He was so pleased with Her that He abandoned the rest of us and brought Her to a secluded place.

I will appreciate your kind help to eliminate my darkness of understanding. Please forgive me if I have committed any sin for asking this question out of my curiosity.

Please accept my dandvat pranam.

Hare Krishna!

    • Hare Krishna Zola Prabhu!

      I have no doubt about Radha Rani's endless glories because She is the one who could attract Krishna. My question is why we don't see her direct presence neither in Bhagavad Gita nor in Bhagavatam.

      I strongly believe that there is an acceptable reason for that. I would like to know reason. I would appreciate if you can provide me with authentic references of that.

      I appreciate your valuable time and understanding.

  • Hare Krishna Panchatathva Prabhu! I would like to thank you for your compassion and valuable sources to remove my darkness and ignorance. In understanding.
    Hope to get your kind supports always.
  • Amal Prabhuji

    Radharani and Krishna's names are mentioned in scriptures. So dont get confused. Infact Srila Prabhupada, who is in the line of disciple succession explains in many of his lectures in website KRISHNA.TV perfectly.  Please hear all of them. All your doubts will go away.

    Sanata Kumara Samhita

    Sanata-kumara-samhita explains the process of meditation on the Hare Krishna maha-mantra:

    hare-krishnau dvir avrittau, krishna tadrik tatha hare;
    hare rama tatha rama, tatha tadrig ghare manuh.

    “In the maha-mantra, the words hare krishna are repeated twice, and then krishna and hare are both separately twice repeated. In the same way, hare rama, rama and hare are twice repeated.

    hare krishna hare krishna, krishna krishna hare hare
    hare rama hare rama, rama rama hare hare.

    dhyayed vrindavane ramye, gopa-gobhir alankrite;
    kadamba-padapa-cchaye yamuna-jala-shitale.

    radhaya sahitam krishnam, vamshi-vadana-tat-param;
    tribhanga-lalitam devam, bhaktanugraha-karakam.

    (The meditation while chanting the maha-mantra is as follows) “Shri Krishna is sporting in the cooling waters of the Yamuna, or in the shade of a kadamba tree in the beautiful Vrindavana forest. He is ornamented (surrounded) by the cows and gopas, and is accompanied by Shri Radha. He is skillful at playing the flute as He stands in a charming tribhanga (three-fold bending at the neck, waist and knees) pose, bestowing mercy and kindness upon all the devotees (bhaktas).”

    • Hare Krishna Prabhu for your valuable time and advice.

      It would be nice if you could provide me the reference for the medication process while chanting Maha Mantra.

      By the way, my simple question is not related with how to chant Mamantra. I have checked Krishna. tv, but didn't find specific answer. Would you provide me the specific link so that I can listen those albums.

      Have a wonderful and peaceful time prabhu!

  • Respected Devotees, Hare Krsna! AGTSP, dandavats

    We conditioned souls are not competent enough to discuss Sri Radha Rani'leelas. Even Srila Prabhupad had said,"In our conditioned stage, we can not worship Radha-Krsna.  Radha-Krsna seva is for them who has developed spontaneous love for God."

    Even in our course books in materiel world, we did not question,"why this subject/topic is included or excluded". And we want to discuss "why Śukadeva Gosvāmī kept Radha Rani's name hidden?"

    I beg to submit that we should not waste our precious time on these issues which even Mahabhagvat Mahajans (12) avoided to discuss.

    your insignificant servant
