Profile Information

Initiated / Legal name: recent convert, no guru. Swaminarayan family history under Pramukh Swami BAPS organization. Wanting to convert to Hare Krishna.

When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?: Been researching them online since 2004. Originally a BAPS Swaminarayan devotee. I researched Vaishnavism and various Krishna sects/sampradayas.

Name the nearest and most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know: Don't have a temple near me!

Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you: I'm a student at communtiy college working to become a Registered Nurse. I'm a quiet person, conservative and faithful. I want to visit India one day. I also wanted to spread the DIVINE NAME OF LORD KRISHNA.

In Bhagavad-Gita Gita Lord Krishna has inspired Arjuna to rise from his depression by preaching Gita in the battlefield and to rise from the depression to do his duties. Being dedicated work has to mean "working for the sake of work, generating excellence for its own sake." If we are always calculating the date of promotion or the rate of commission before putting in our efforts, then such work is not detached. It is not "generating excellence for its own sake" but working only for the extrinsic reward that may (or may not) result.
