Just For Chanting Hare Krishna !
Recently I have taken a 4 month break from my spiritual practice of many years chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. Instead I began hanging out with fundamentalist Christians reading the bible; then leaving that path more or less, I explored what the new age movement had to offer: I became interested in the process of sitting in mediation, discussions about how we are liberated as well as our position as creator of our own individual reality. It's all been wonderful journey and experience.
These paths all have their virtues and limitations as far as my own experience of them goes. One great thing that came from all this is when I started singing the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra again,immediately these wondrous rapturous ecstatic feelings and bodily transformations of intense crying laughing shaking began to arise again as before. This time I was able to appreciate even more the mysterious power of this Hare Krishna mantra on a whole new level, without the religious ritualistic trip that is often built around this chanting. This is what turns off many intelligent persons who are sincerely looking for a genuine spiritual connection with something which is deep within themselves yet is not always so easy to access.
If we look at life through the paradigm that everything has a purpose and place woven in the tapestry of the universe, in my experience singing this Hare Krishna mantra is quite unique. I have not experienced any other method that so easily produces a rare indescribable spiritual emotional rapture just by singing this name Hare Krishna over and over again. I never get tired of chanting as the taste for this chanting just increases. With experiencing the spontaneous awakening of such exalted spiritual feelings there is a amazing byproduct that so many persons in the world are seeking independently as their goal which is liberation from suffering. This liberation is simply a byproduct of the natural awakening of this loving ecstasy produced by chanting. Simultaneously one's mind and heart is washed clean every bit of unhappiness or problem one can have in this world.
Now I can see why people have created stories about this name Krishna, calling it Holy and representative of God's incarnation in a sound vibration. I used to hold the idea that God was Jesus's Father or Krishna or some other identifiable deity. Through the unparalleled feelings of blissful emotional ecstasy that is experienced chanting I can see why such stories arise about the magnificence of the name Krishna as there is nothing else in this world that has produced such a unique spiritual manifestation in those who chant it. It is only religious belief systems producing opposite results, built around great things, that turn people off, often staining the reputation of such greatness. What I do not find attractive is that controlling manipulative religions have been spawned out of this simple method of singing this name Krishna. I don't know of anything that produces such an exalted experience of intense spiritual happiness, as well as profound liberating effects, like the simple singing of this mysterious Hare Krishna mantra and which is readily available to anyone.
I find chanting works better now without revering a religion along side it. I simply put my full attention on the sound of chanting the Hare Krishna Mantra and this ecstasy arises without performing any religious rituals or worshiping Gurus. Not convinced watch the video that comes along with this article. The Greek meaning for the name God means The Great Mystery. Krishna's name to me now is a perfect representation of the Greatest Mystery I can think of and I am not ever going to build a controlling religion, with all its guru worship around it. I am satisfied to just simply chant this name and inspire anyone else in this world, who may be suffering so much in this world to also take advantage of chanting this Great Mysterious Name Krishna.
This is how I see this name Krishna now days. I don't know why it produces such amazing profound unique results, that I have not experienced through sitting mediation, worship of Jesus, or any New Age techniques. I don't know why my heart and soul becomes so attractive to chanting this vibration and even more so than being attracted to the most beautiful woman in this world. I don't even care why anymore as I just chant and relish this amazing spiritual euphoria that is natural, better than any drug because it produces no negative side effects. It ecstatic symptoms do not decrease yet on the contrary increase!
